Preschool-Kindergarten Art Show, Monday, May 19th, 7 p.m.

This amazing show is an adults-only event in which to enjoy your child’s beautiful   creations and the company of other adults.  Book your sitter now!  Kindergarten and preschool teachers have sent out more detailed announcements, including how to volunteer.  Speak with your child’s teachers if you want to participate in the set-up.

 

Your Auction Tech Dollar at E-Work

Thanks to our community’s generosity, the paddle fundraiser for technology netted $4193.64! (Yes, the committee counts every penny and so do I.) 

With these funds we were able to purchase:

  • A new iMac for the preschool (the old one had been soldiering on since 2002) in time for
  • portfolio polishing
  • A Time Capsule, which increases our storage capacity, provides automated backups with
  • minimal fuss, and stabilizes our “shaky” hub (along with the new wiring that Robert ran for us)
  • 3 AlphaSmart keyboards for Claire’s writing room to assist young writers with lots of ideas, but slow handwriting.

$4193.64 - $2592.55 = $1601.09 which will be used to purchase software upgrades and to replace one of our oldest laptops.  This is another example of how you make a difference in our daily lives as teachers.

 

A Family Activity That Supports a Good Cause

The show, Annie, playing at the Nomad Theater is a benefit for the YMCA, Children's Alley Program. The tickets are $7.00 each, available at the door.  Ellie, Wyeth and Piper, Bixby students, are in the show, but not all at the same times.

The show times are as follows:

  •  May 17th at 3:30 pm (Ellie and Wyeth)
  •  May 17th at 6:00 pm (Wyeth and Piper)
  •  May 18th at 3:30 pm (Wyeth and Piper)
  •  May 18th at 6:00 pm (Ellie and Wyeth)

End of School Dance

This year we will have an End of School Dance sponsored by the Student Council on

May 28th after school until 4:30 p.m. Attendance is optional and is open to all K-5th graders. Children who don't usually stay for full day will need to add the extra time to their June payment or just get a check to Cindy by the end of the week. Dress is regular school clothes and comfortable shoes. 

 

Time to Register for Elementary Summer Program!

The 2008 Elementary Summer Program brochure and links to online registration are now posted on the Summer/After School page.

While most of the Special Classes are included, others may still be scheduled, so watch for an email with updates. 

The preschool program operates year round, although they will be creating and participating in activities related to our themes.  Forms for summer scheduling are in Parent Pockets now.
