I grew up in Superior, Colorado and have been in and around Boulder for the majority of my life. I have worked as a skateboard instructor at Square State Skate since 2015 and more recently as a 1-on-1 special ed para at Manhattan Middle School. Outside of work my hobbies and interests include film and photography, disc golfing, and 20th century American literature.
My background in skateboarding has allowed me to develop a teaching style centered on compassion, patience, and acknowledgement of the learner’s bravery. I believe in celebrating the failures just as much as the successes in order to emphasize that learning is not linear, and that trying new or difficult things without a guarantee of success is an act of courage that should be appreciated in every child. I can’t wait to bring my unique perspective and begin my journey at Bixby School this year.
